You sleep when you get to the finish

As a warm-up for The Ocean Race around-the-world course which gets underway in January 2027, six IMOCAs will line-up September 1 for The Ocean Race Atlantic 2026, a 3,300-nautical mile transatlantic “sprint” from New York to Lorient, France.

It is expected to take as little as eight days, with each entry to have two women, two men, and one On Board Reporter. It will be the first 50/50 gender parity crewed transatlantic race in offshore sailing.

Among the 60-footers on the startline is DMG Mori Global One, the new foiler from the board of French superstar designer Guillaume Verdier, and Team Malizia, also fresh out of the box and designed by Verdier’s main rival in IMOCA – Antoine Koch, also of France. – Full report
