One of Asia’s established diving exhibitions will return to Singapore from 9 to 11 April 2027, with ADEX Big Blue Legacy bringing together international dive industry representatives, underwater photographers, technical diving specialists and marine conservation organisations.
The 33rd edition of ADEX, held as part of Singapore Ocean Week, will take place at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, occupying Halls 403–406.
Organisers have confirmed a three-day programme combining equipment and destination exhibitions, technical diving presentations, underwater photography competitions, ocean conservation initiatives and live performances.
The 2027 event will be dedicated to the dugong, placing the protection of this increasingly vulnerable marine mammal and its seagrass habitat at the centre of the exhibition’s conservation message.
ADEX 2027 Puts the Dugong in the Spotlight
Dugongs are closely associated with healthy seagrass ecosystems, feeding on underwater vegetation in shallow coastal waters across the Indo-Pacific region.
Often described as the gentle gardeners of the sea, these marine mammals face significant threats from habitat degradation, coastal development, fishing-related incidents and other human activities.
By dedicating its 2027 edition to the dugong, ADEX aims to bring greater attention to the relationship between marine biodiversity, coastal ecosystems and ocean conservation.
The conservation theme will run alongside the exhibition’s established programme of diving education, photography, science and industry networking.
TekAsia Conference Returns for Technical Divers
Technical diving will again have a dedicated presence through the TekAsia 2027 Conference and Workshop programme.
The conference will explore technical diving, underwater exploration, wreck diving, research, innovation and diving history.
International speakers are expected to share their experiences and developments across specialist diving disciplines, with the full speaker programme to be announced closer to the event.
TekAsia will operate alongside the main exhibition, providing an opportunity for technical divers, equipment manufacturers, researchers and expedition specialists to exchange knowledge.
The conference and workshop programme is scheduled to run daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
International Dive Industry and Travel Opportunities
For the commercial diving and tourism sectors, ADEX 2027 will provide a meeting point for manufacturers, dive centres, resorts, liveaboard operators and destination representatives.
Exhibitors will showcase diving equipment, technology, training opportunities and travel destinations, while industry professionals will have opportunities to establish new partnerships and meet potential customers.
Visitors will also be able to explore dive holiday options, compare equipment and speak directly with operators and manufacturers.
The event’s combination of consumer exhibitions and business networking makes it particularly relevant to the Asia-Pacific diving market, while attracting participation from the wider international industry.
Underwater Photography, Film and Creative Competitions
Underwater photography and filmmaking will remain prominent elements of the exhibition.
The annual Voice of the Ocean Photo+Film+Art Competition will feature live judging by an international panel, allowing visitors to observe how competition entries are assessed.
The ADEX 2027 Dugong Photo of the Year competition will invite photographers to contribute imagery and stories highlighting the species.
The Asian Diver TekAsia Underwater Photography Competition will focus on technical diving environments, including wrecks and caves, while Images of Asia by Asian Geographic will also feature in the programme.
Across the Main Stage, Image/Film/Book Stage and Tek Stage, photographers, filmmakers, authors, scientists and explorers will present their work and discuss developments in underwater exploration and marine conservation.
Ocean Performances and New Open Mic Programme
Beyond conventional dive exhibitions, ADEX 2027 will incorporate several creative and cultural programmes.
AquaPoetics will bring underwater dance, mermaid performances and artistic competitions to the exhibition’s dive tank area. Underwater rugby and hockey demonstrations are also planned.
Asian Geographic’s Celebrating Arts programme will include ocean-inspired art, fashion, music and other performances.
A new addition for 2027 is ADEX Ocean Amplified, an open mic initiative inviting members of the ocean community to share stories, ideas and perspectives.
Operating under the theme One Ocean. One Voice. Amplified., the initiative is intended to encourage participation from a wider range of ocean advocates, storytellers and conservation supporters.
Blue Legacy Awards Return
The Blue Legacy Awards will return for their second year on Sunday, 11 April 2027.
The evening fundraising gala will recognise individuals and organisations contributing to diving, innovation, marine conservation and the arts.
Awards will be presented across Asia and Global categories, with nominations open internationally.
A charity auction will also support marine conservation initiatives.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM, following the final day of the exhibition.
