Tell the Federal Government to Finish the Job on “Forever Chemicals”

It’s time for Canada to act on toxic “forever chemicals.”

PFAS, also known as “forever chemicals,” are toxic, don’t break down, and are building up in our bodies and environment. Despite the growing evidence of harm, Canada has yet to meaningfully regulate them.

That can change now.

In March 2025, the government confirmed that PFAS meet the criteria to be listed as toxic under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA). The new federal government must now finalize its plan to phase-out “forever chemicals.”

This is a vital chance to protect our health and ecosystems—and to meet this moment with real progress. Four in five Canadians support strong PFAS regulation. It’s time to act.
