The CE endorsement is a key milestone in Halcyon’s global distribution strategy, allowing the Symbios CM to be marketed with full regulatory certification across Europe and strengthening its standing in international technical diving communities. The designation confirms the rebreather meets the stringent requirements for closed-circuit systems used in recreational and technical diving.
Innovation meets regulation
The chest-mounted layout of the Symbios CM reflects Halcyon’s commitment to modular, diver-focused design. The system is engineered to integrate with existing open-circuit components, delivering extended range, redundancy, and streamlined ergonomics. Onboard electronics powered by Halcyon’s proprietary Guardian r-OS platform, feature wireless data transmission and vibration-based alarms to heighten diver awareness.
Jarrod Jablonski, Halcyon’s founder, called the CE approval “an important step in making this groundbreaking system available to a broader international community.” He added that divers globally will now have access to a certified solution that blends cutting-edge technology into a compact but capable unit.
Lead designer Arne Sieber credited the company’s international R&D collaboration, spanning teams in Austria, Florida, and Poland for achieving the benchmark. He said the close partnership enabled the delivery of a system designed to elevate diver safety and exploration capability.
What comes next
With CE approval in hand, Halcyon is now gearing up to expand its dealer network throughout Europe and beyond. Certified distribution will enable dive shops and rebreather users across EU member states to adopt the Symbios CM with confidence in its regulatory compliance.
As regulatory clearance unlocks new markets, the diving community will be watching closely to see how divers respond to this new certified option in the closed-circuit space, especially in regions where CE conformity is a nonnegotiable requirement.
