Sailing skunked again for Hall of Fame

The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee confirmed the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Hall of Fame, Class of 2025, which will be honored and inducted in a special ceremony held July 12 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Of the inductees, no nominees from Sailing were included.

Team USA Hall of Fame inducts a new class every two years with this 18th class to bring the total to 210 inductees (individuals and teams). Thus far, no one from Sailing has been inducted.

Nick Scandone and Maureen McKinnon were finalists for the Hall of Fame in 2022 for their Gold medal in the Beijing 2008 Paralympics and were in the running again for the Class of 2025. Also being considered for 2025 was Conn Findlay as a rare multi-sport Olympian, earning two Gold and one Bronze medal in rowing and one Bronze in sailing.

The Class of 2025 was determined by a voting process that includes Olympians and Paralympians, members of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic family, and an online vote open to fans which attracted nearly 300,000 votes.
