7 bin 300 metrekarelik koy ve 202 metre derinliğindeki çukur için 24 milyon dolar (45 milyon Türk Lirası) değer biçildi. Bahamalar’ın 265 kilometre güneydoğusundaki Long Adası’nın Clarence bölgesinde yer alan Mavi Çukur’a uçakla ulaşılamıyor.

Turkuaz denizi ve beyaz kumlarıyla ünlü koyun yeni sahibi, serbest dalışın en önemli merkezine de sahip olacak. Her yıl onlarca kişi, çapı yüz/_np/8168/18938168.jpgeyde 25-35 metre arasında değişen Mavi Çukur’a dalmak için bölgeye akın ediyor.

Nisan 2010’da William Trubridge, palet kullanmadan Mavi Çukur’a 92 metre dalarak rekor kırmıştı. Girişi deniz seviyesinin altında, bilinen en derin sualtı çukuru olan Mavi Çukur, 20 metre derinlikte çapı 100 metre olan bir sualtı mağarası içeriyor.
