Son yıllarda Ege ve Akdeniz’de sıkça rastlanan balon balığının Brezilya’da 11 kişiyi hastanelik ettiği haberleri üzerine yetkililer, dikkatli olunması konusunda uyarı yaptı.
Vücudundaki aşırı toksik madde nedeniyle balon balığının başta felç olmak üzere ölümlere yol açılabildiği vurgulandı.
DTO Bodrum Şubesi Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi ve Bodrum Cankurtaran ve Su Sporları Derneği Başkanı Arif yılmaz, “Son yıllarda Ege ve Akdeniz’de suların ısınması ile Hint Okyanusu’ndan bölgemize gelen balon balığı konusunda vatandaşlarımızın oldukça duyarlı olması nedeniyle şu ana kadar herhangi bir vakaya rastlanmadı. Ancak yine de bu balığın çok hızlı bir şekilde zehirleyici ve öldürücü olduğu ve panzehrinin de bulunmadığı bir gerçek. Yine de bu balığı yakalayanların çok dikkatli olması gerektiği konusunda sık sık uyarılarda bulunuyoruz. Yakalayanlar kesinlikle yemesin. Ortada bırakmasın. Gömerek imha etsin” dedi.
