A Festive Tradition Supporting Two Worthy Causes
Each year the event raises funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and Help for Heroes. Since its launch in 2007, Vobster Santas has generated over £55,000 for charity according to the organisers. Divers are encouraged to gather sponsors through JustGiving to support both charities.
Gates open at 07:30, followed by a dive brief at 09:30 and the main group dive at 10:00, details confirmed on the official schedule.
Why Divers Take Part
For many divers this event is more than a novelty. Vobster Quay’s welcoming atmosphere and open-water conditions offer a perfect setting for a community-driven dive with a festive twist. The sight of dozens of divers entering the water in Santa suits has become a highlight of the winter diving calendar.
How To Join In
Divers can register through the official event page to receive a unique booking link, which allows them to secure a dive session. Both members and non-members are welcome. The team also encourages participants to get creative with their festive outfits for maximum seasonal spirit.
A charity raffle will also take place on the day with prizes provided by leading diving equipment brands. All proceeds go directly to RNLI and Help for Heroes, as confirmed by the Vobster team.
A Feel-Good Finale to the Dive Season
Vobster Santas 2025 offers divers an opportunity to close the year with community spirit, fun, and meaningful fundraising. Whether you are a regular at the site or a visiting diver looking for a festive challenge, it is a uniquely joyful experience that supports two important causes.
