Not a ‘Mickey Mouse’ operation

On November 10, the 341-meter Disney Treasure rescued four crew

On November 10, the 341-meter Disney Treasure rescued four crew when their disabled 50-foot catamaran was taking on water about 265 miles southwest of Bermuda. The Disney cruise ship performed the rescue in coordination with the United States Coast Guard (USCG).

The Disney Treasure, which was recently launched in Europe, was making its maiden voyage across the Atlantic when it became the closest ship to the vessel in distress. From the Treasure, Captain Marco Nogara oversaw the launch of a life boat which successfully rescued the catamaran crew.

With no guests onboard, the rescued crew had the ship to themselves for the remaining miles of the transatlantic crossing which arrives November 12 in Port Canaveral, FL
