Alex Thomson (Hugo Boss), has finished third in the inaugural 2016 New York – Vendée (Les Sables d’Olonne) Race presented by Currency House and SpaceCode.
The British skipper, Alex Thomson (Hugo Boss), crossed the finish line off Les Sables d’Olonne this afternoon at 18:43:33 (French time). Thomson covered the course in 9 days 21 hrs 03 mins and 33 seconds. He finished 4 hours and 41 minutes behind the winner, Jérémie Beyou, (Maître CoQ).
Thomson sailed 3453 miles at an average speed of 14.57 knots.
Note: the theoretical race course was 3,100 miles.
