“Still Watch” Vessel in Oswego Has been Upgraded and is Being Offered for Free After being Abandoned

It appears that the vessel Still Watch is now being offered

It appears that the vessel Still Watch is now being offered for someone to take it for “free,” or it will be scrapped at the Oswego Port Authority Marina.

It’s still Canadian-registered because no one is interested in taking it home for free. It’s in great shape and has had many impressive upgrades – solar powered system, house water tanks, pex water system, fridges, galley cabinets; a much needed facelift (Source: Kevin Rookey-Russell Brothers Boats FB page).

She left Midland on May 17, 2024, for Buffalo for repairs. In December 2024, she arrived she sailed to Port Colborne and remained tied up for months before finally sailing to Oswego on 2/28/2025, reportedly heading to Maine for a refit as had been planned. Here, she was abandoned and sadly, never sailed again.

She was a steel diesel Canadian Coast Guard survey vessel built by Russel Brothers, Owen Sound, and launched as VILLE MARIE 1960 – 1984 (later converted to a SAR cutter); registered at Ottawa; then sold to a religious organization and renamed Heavenbound 1984 – 1995. Laid up for the winter 1994 – 1995 in the turning basin in the Toronto ship channel, and was renamed in April 1995 as Still Watch
