Spring time in America’s Finest City

The weather in San Diego was remarkably nice on May 10, reaching 80°F along the coast. While the locals took advantage of the beach weather, the US Coast Guard was kept busy that day with three incidents of aliens seeking illegal entrance into the USA.

While no fatalities occurred, as drownings are not uncommon in the surf, the Coasties had to fire four rounds into an outboard to gain control on one of the vessels. Just a little excitement as teams train for the 2025 Etchells North Americans which starts May 16 in San Diego.

• The Coast Guard intercepted a suspected maritime smuggling attempt early Saturday morning after a vessel beached near Windansea Beach, resulting in multiple apprehensions. – Full report

• The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Terrell Horne interdicted three aliens aboard a 20-foot pleasure craft approximately two miles south of Point Loma, California, Saturday afternoon. – Full report
