Three Olympic events got tested at the 2022 49er, 49erFX, and Nacra 17 World Championships held August 31-September 5 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Both Men’s and Women’s Skiff events were handily won by the Dutch – Bart Lambriex/ Floris van de Werken and Odile van Aanholt/ Annette Duetz – while Italians Ruggero Tita/ Caterina Banti redefined domination in the Mixed Multihull by winning 14 of the 16 qualifying races to easily capture the title before the Medal Race. The top North American score in the championships was fifth place by Steph Roble/ Maggie Shea (USA) in the 49erFX.
