The 16th edition of the Yacht Racing Image Award has opened entries for yacht racing photographers from all over the world to submit their best image taken since October 14, 2024.
Founded in 2010, the photo competition dedicated to the sport of sailing aims to reward the best yacht racing images taken during the year and to celebrate their authors.
The best images selected by the event’s international jury will be exhibited at the Metstrade Show on November 18-20, while the prize giving ceremony will take place during the Yacht Racing Forum in Amsterdam on November 21.
Three categories will be recognized:
• Yacht Racing Image Award (main prize), awarded by an independent and international Jury.
• Public Award selected by the number of votes on Internet.
• Delegates Award based on the votes of delegates attending Metstrade and the Yacht Racing Forum.
Contest rules include:
• The contest is open to professional photographers who can confirm and prove that they have regularly published pictures and been paid for their work.
• The photos submitted must have been taken between October 14, 2024 and October 12, 2025.
• The subject of the contest is boat racing in all its forms, from classic yachts to top-end racers, including multihulls, dinghies, foilers, windsurf and kitesurfing.
• The pictures submitted must reflect the spirit of yacht racing. They may have been taken at any time, before, during and after regattas.
• Photos that do not relate with racing will not be accepted.
Prize money:
• The winner of the Yacht Racing Image award will receive € 1000 prize money. The second placed will receive € 750 prize money. The third placed will receive € 250 prize money
• The winner of the Public Award will receive € 500 prize money.
• The winner of the Delegates Award will receive € 500 prize money.
