A man in his seventies has died following a diving

A man in his seventies has died following a diving accident off the coast of Limhamn in Malmö, according to confirmed reports from Swedish police and multiple local news outlets.

The incident occurred near the area known as Ön, a well-known coastal location in Limhamn, where the man was taking part in a group dive. Emergency services were alerted after the diver encountered difficulties underwater. Despite rescue efforts, he was later pronounced dead.

Police have confirmed that the man was diving with others at the time of the incident. At this stage, authorities have not released details about what went wrong during the dive, and no immediate cause of death has been made public. An investigation has been opened, which is standard procedure following fatal accidents of this nature in Sweden.

Local reporting has been consistent in stating that there is currently no indication of criminal activity. Police have indicated that the investigation will focus on establishing the sequence of events, including environmental conditions, equipment factors, and medical considerations.

The waters around Limhamn are popular with local divers, particularly for shore dives, but winter conditions in southern Sweden can present additional challenges, including cold water temperatures, limited visibility, and changing weather.

The Scuba News will continue to follow this story and report further updates should official findings or additional information be released by authorities.
