After a successful debut Act in 2016, Marina Funchal, on the south coast of Madeira Island’s capital, Funchal, will see a return visit from the fleet of GC32s. With a variety of wind conditions, including some extremely testing lighter days, the teams are pushed to their tactical limits in this venue, which proved to be an ideal location for the Global-circuit.

Marina Funchal, which hosts the public Race Village, is considered to be one of the most spectacular harbour destinations in the world and has been a popular cruise liner destination for over 100 years, with up to 75 liners visiting per month. Bursting with culture, history and interesting architecture, there is plenty to see and do in Funchal, providing the perfect exploring ground for visitors.
