Tenerife Champion and Current World Tour Leader Victor Fernandez Slicing Up Cabezo One Day After The Contest

Victor Fernandez (Fanatic / Duotone / Shamal Sunglasses) entered the second wave event of the year in 4th place – having missed out on the podium in Pozo for the first time since 2005. However, Fernandez held a superb record in Tenerife in recent years, which has yielded 3 event victories in the last 4 season in El Médano.

Even more crucially though, with the likes of reigning world champion – Philip Köster (Starboard / Severne / Maui Ultra Fins) – and at the time World No.2 – Marcilio Browne (Goya Windsurfing) – and Ricardo Campello (Brunotti Boards / Point-7) all faltering slightly, victory for Fernandez sees the Spaniard take control of the title race with one event to go.
